WOBURN, MASSACHUSETTS, April 18, 2024 – The Dolben Company is pleased to announce the promotions of two of its senior leaders as it continues to build for the future. Tom Beaton has been promoted from Senior Vice President, Property Management to Executive Vice President, Property Management and Melissa Morris has been promoted from Human Resources Director to Chief Human Resources Officer.

Tom Beaton – Executive Vice President, Property Management
Tom joined The Dolben Company in 1982 and has led the operations of the management portfolio since 1988. Today, he is responsible for overseeing more than 16,000 multifamily units in the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Southwest Florida regions.
Tom was recently asked about what he loves most about Dolben and his longtime career… “I love the culture of the company as we have created a true team atmosphere, and employees feel that they are a part of the Dolben family. I look forward to coming to the office each day as I have the opportunity to work with such a talented and enthusiastic group of people that share the same goals.”
Tom has been asked many times about the multifamily industry and what has kept him motivated for the past 42 years… “Most importantly, we are challenged every day to provide a very high level of service and innovation to the benefit of the owners that we represent and the residents that reside in our communities. A person’s home is one of the most sacred aspects of their life. In this industry, we have the opportunity to provide a person with a warm and welcoming living environment that they are proud to call home. That responsibility has kept me engaged and motivated throughout all of these years.”
Tom is a Director and Past President of the Massachusetts Apartment Association (MAA). In 2019, he received the Industry Excellence Award from MAA. He was the 2015 Chairman of the National Apartment Association (NAA) and was elected to the NAA Hall of Fame in 2021. He has earned the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and holds the NAA’s Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation.
Melissa Morris – Chief Human Resources Officer
Melissa joined Dolben as the Human Resources Director in 2005. She is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources, including employee benefits, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. She also serves as the Dean of Dolben University.
Melissa recently reflected on her tenure at Dolben… “The Company has doubled in size since I joined Dolben over 18 years ago. I am excited about the recent changes that we have made at the corporate level. We are putting a management structure in place to ensure our continued growth. This type of growth will have a trickle-down effect and hopefully provide many employees with the opportunity to grow and advance within Dolben. We have always prided ourselves on how lucky we are to have so many employees who have found long-term careers with Dolben.”
Melissa is a member of the NAAEI HR Advisory Group, Boston HR Council, MMHA HR Council, and the Grace Hill Leadership Council. She earned her Advanced Instructor Certificate from the NAAEI and has spoken multiple times at NAA’s annual Apartmentalize conference. Melissa holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources designation from the Society of Human Resources Management.
